Payments: Stripe processes payment info; we never store full card numbers
Content & metadata: Comics, titles, descriptions, likes/dislikes, subscriptions, reports
Storage artifacts: Service Worker cache, cookies, and local storage (e.g., a per-device ID for anonymous reactions/subscriptions)

Provide and operate the platform (reading, uploading, language switching, creator studio)

4. Technologies We Use

Cookies & localStorage for session state, language, and anonymous reaction/subscription tracking (a random device ID).
Service Worker caches certain static assets and images to improve performance and offline resilience. You can clear cached data via your browser.
Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage) to authenticate users, store comics & metadata, and host images.
Google Analytics (GA4) to understand site usage (IP, device, events). IPs may be truncated or processed regionally per Google’s settings.
Google AdSense for ad delivery and measurement. Google may use cookies or similar technologies for personalized/non-personalized ads depending on your settings.
Stripe to process tips/payments; sensitive payment data is handled by Stripe, not Comiiic.

We rely on legitimate interests (platform operation, safety, analytics), contract (when you register or tip), consent (cookies/ads where required), and legal obligations.

6. How We Share Data

We share data with service providers (Google/Firebase, Stripe, analytics/ads partners) under appropriate safeguards. We may share data if required by law, to protect rights, or in connection with a business transaction.

7. Data Retention

We keep account and content data while your account is active. Log/analytics data is retained for a reasonable period (typically 14–26 months for analytics defaults) and then deleted or aggregated. Legal/transaction records may be kept longer to comply with law.

We operate globally. Your data may be processed in countries with different data protection laws. We use standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards where required.

California residents have rights to know/access, correct, delete, and opt-out of the sale/share of personal information. To exercise rights, contact us at hello@comiiic.com. If we provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the future, it will appear in the site footer.

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your region). If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us for removal.

We implement technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk (encryption in transit, access controls). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
